Wellspring | Moraine Lake
Moraine Lake is special. This secluded wellspring in the Valley of the Ten Peaks within Banff National Park is fed by crystal waters from the Wenkchemna Glacier, which when mixed with rock flour and light refraction, produce a serene, iridescent blue. In order to capture this moment, I spent 3 straight mornings on the moraine awaiting first light in blissful contemplation of the majesty of the scene. On the last morning at this beautiful place, the sky glowed and the words of Walter Wilcox who first discovered these scene resonated within me, "No scene had ever given me an equal impression of inspiring solitude and rugged grandeur."
